In this picture from Genesis 2, most of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is visible, from the coastline to the Quabbin Reservoir in the west. Niagara Falls

The white plume of mist from Niagara Falls is visible in this view of the southwest corner of Lake Ontario. The combined falls are more than 3000 feet across, flowing from Lake Erie in the south to Lake Ontario in the north. They reach their peak flow in the spring each year. Southern Nevada Composite Image

This image is a mosaic of pictures captured from the Genesis 1 and 2 spacecraft as they orbited over the Bigelow Aerospace communications site in Nevada during the time frame of 2008-2009. Some landmarks identifiable in the photo are Groom Lake, Death Valley and Valley of Fire State Park. The Las Vegas area and Lake Mead are visible in the lower right quadrant of the photo. Edwards Air Force Base

The western landing facility for the Space Shuttle, Runway 04/22L is visible in this picture of southern California. Edwards Air Force Base was the site of many milestones in spaceflight, including where the sound barrier was first broken (Chuck Yeager's flight of the Bell X-1) and the first Space Shuttle landing. Roads are clear in this picture of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan captured from Genesis II on March 31, 2009. This city of over 200,000 people is at the intersection of several major highways in Canada. Quebec city, Quebec

The St. Lawrence River appears free of ice in this photo taken on March 23, 2009. Quebec City and the Isle d’Orleans are visible in the right side of the frame. Catskill State Park

This view of Catskill Park in New York State was taken from Genesis II on February 25, 2009 as it passed over the Bigelow Aerospace Maine Groundstation. The northern coast of California is visible here in this picture captured by Genesis II. This area is home to the Klamath River and the southern end of the Cascade mountain range. Rabbit's Eye

Midway down Baja California sits one of the final destinations of gray whales in their annual migration south: The inland lagoon Ojo de Liebre. Genesis II snapped an image of this interesting geographic feature on July 21. Translated as "eye of the jackrabbit" the salt-water lagoon was a prime whaling area in the 19th century, but is now one of the better places on Earth to partake in the more peaceful pastime of whale watching.
